Built in 1986, Libbaton is a parkland course designed to encapsulate the beautiful surrounding countryside and numerous mature trees and hedges that line the fairways. Over the years, many more trees have been planted to create new vistas and define the fairways further. Water, too, adds to the course's beauty, yet poses many a natural hazard with streams, lakes or ponds coming into play on nine of the 18 holes.
The par 72 course is home to a variety of wildlife, flora and fauna and offers a challenging and enjoyable game for both low and high handicap golfers alike. Your round will consist of four par 5s, ten par 4s, and four par 3s - all of which deliver a true test of golfing ability. Our signature hole is the par three 3rd. 154yds (white tees) down hill, OOB left, over water to a small, sloping green. Choose the right club and there's a possible birdie on the cards. Stray off line and the many natural hazards await. Good luck. |

Hole 1A short, gentle par 4 to start but concentration required as two ponds await a poor tee shot. Whilst it may be drivable for the big hitters, OOB awaits left as does a bunker at greenside. The green is slightly raised, running front to back, so a careful chip is required to give you a good birdie chance.

Hole 2This now par 4 ideally suits a right to left shape off the tee as the fairway slopes left to right but OOB awaits if hit too far left. A two-tiered green which all slopes right so club selection is key to give you a chance to make the putt.

PLEASE NOTE: This hole is now a par 4 - new diagram pending
White: 378yds; Yellow: 348yds; Red: 316yds |
Hole 3Our signature hole, par 3, but be sure to take an extra club as there's room beyond the green. Water lurks in front so anything short will mean a lost ball. Wind direction plays a key part in club selection with the green lying beneath you. A very sloping green so par on this hole will put a big smile on your face.
|
Hole 5This 450 yarder does play slightly shorter as the second shot is all downhill. A good straight drive is key to giving you a chance to go for the green, but club selection is difficult with this blind, downhill shot. A bunker awaits if you lose it slightly left, whilst anything long will drop of the back. Once on the green, it’s relatively flat so a good chance of making a putt.

Hole 6This is SI 1 with a very tough, tight, uphill drive that requires full attention. Over the marker post is perfect, to the left to right sloping fairway. Tree trouble awaits if you hit it left or right. Also, ditches left and right when approaching the green. Anything short on approach will roll back to leave a testing chip to a green that has lots of subtle breaks. Par is very well earned.
|
Hole 8The first par 5 on the course. Not overly long but offers plenty of trouble. A ditch runs in from right and left to the edge of the fairway so accuracy is key if you decide to hit the driver. The fairway severely slopes left to right. Your second shot should favour the left as trouble awaits down the right. The approach runs downhill to the green, with a drop off at the back, so be careful with club selection.
|
Hole 10A slight right to left dogleg par 5 with plenty of room to open your shoulders. A ditch awaits on the corner to catch you unawares with your lay up. On approach the ground runs away from you so club and shot selection are key to holding the ball on the green and giving you a look at a birdie.

Hole 13This hole may be SI 14 but don’t be fooled, par is a good score. A short but very tricky par 4 with trees and a pond up the right and a pond and ditch running up the left. The small green, with false front, sits above you. Too long and you're off the back. And even when on the green, there's rarely a flat putt!
|
Hole 15The final Par 5 with the first half playing downhill to a ditch at the bottom and the second part uphill. A ditch down the right awaits a wayward tee shot. The second shot has trees lining both sides of the fairway. There's a bunker front right to avoid with your approach to a green that slopes from back to front. Good birdie chance.
|
Hole 16Visually the best par 4 on the course and probably the toughest too. Tight drive with fairway ditches left and right. Further on, there's a pond across 2/3 of the fairway which you must take into account with your second shot. An uphill approach to a long green gives much to think about with club selection. A deep bunker awaits any shot that comes up short left. The green slopes back to front, par is always a great score.
|
Hole 18Final hole but concentration required as big fir trees and OOB await on the left with trees and long rough on the right. The length of drive will determine whether you can see the green for your second shot. A good size green where checking pin placement is key before playing in. A tricky bunker awaits front right and too long is OOB!
